Welcome!  Weary of Goodreads, Library Thing and the other various book sited I have decided to keep track of my years reading here!  Don’t look for critiques or reviews, you won’t find them here.  What you will find are the titles I have chesen to read the thoughts about the words and the days surrounding them.

The term book bosom’d was coined by Sir Walter Scott in the epic poem “The Lay of the Last Minstrel”.  I means carrying books close to your chest, or always carrying books… that’s me.  I always have a book.  Always.Don’t look for critiques or reviews, you won’t find them here.  What you will find are the titles I have chosen to read and thoughts about the words and the days surrounding them.

My rating system was created to help us sort and manage our library during 25 years of moves every 2.5-3 years.  On the back cover readers put their intials, the month and year read and a rating.  Come moving time as we box our books we check the ratings to see how each volume should be handled.  This rating applies to fiction only.

1 or 2 – Straight to the book exchange

3  – If everyone has read it discussion ensues about re-readability.  If only one has read it and someone else is interested it stays.

4 – Keeper.  Period.

I can count on one hand the books I have read that got a 1 or 2.  I rarely dislike anything I read.
